I love my new Halloween clings!
A student turned this answer in on a graphic organizer today. The student obviously meant Adam and Eve, but I found it amusing and thought I would share. :) Today in class, we are finishing reading the short story "Flowers for Algernon". We had a wonderful discussion in one of my classes about the allusion to Adam and Eve in the book. I was surprised by some of the connections that my students made. Moments like this are why I love being a teacher. When the students enjoy the story and truly understand what the author is trying to show them, when something "clicks", it is just an amazing feeling. I'm really going to miss these kids when my interim is up.
On a side note, they all thought it was HILARIOUS when Charlie calls one mean guy a "lousy cracker". It always takes me by surprise the parts of a story they connect with. |
